You can find white mold on wood, clothes, basement, concrete, furniture and lot many other places. Here are some of the methodologies to be used to clean white mold on concrete or from other areas:

Clean white mold using bleach:

Make a solution of bleach and water i.e. 1 portion of bleach to 16 portions of water or 1 gallon water to bleach of 1 cup. It works well on the porous surfaces when mixed with detergent like white mold on wood, fabrics and drywalls etc. However, the bleach solution also works well on porous surfaces when mixed with water.

Coming to its application, apply using a rag or simply or spray on the mold but must not be too heavy. Wait for 5 minutes or keep it longer for stubborn scenarios. Now, scrub using a rough tool or rag or brush without destroying or scratching the material that you want to protect. Clean the area using a moist rag.

You should be cautioned while using bleach as it can be dangerous to humans and nature as well. Don’t mix it up with ammonia and ensure the room is well-ventilated.

Clean white mold using vinegar:

If you don’t want to damage the nature using bleach then opt for vinegar as a natural option against strong chemicals. It is neither dangerous nor can cause harm to the environment. Its recipe is just simple i.e. purified white vinegar and should be used straightaway. It can be used on white mold in basement but be careful while using on the porous surfaces like water, particles and air that break through the external surface.

Apply on the white mold on concrete using a rag or spray the vinegar on the mold but should not be too heavy. Wait for nearly (10 to 15) minutes and then again apply or spray followed by the scrubbing process using a rag, brush or tool without a scratch on the material. Now, clean the area using a damp rag. It has a strong odor but will disperse in few minutes.

Clean white mold using baking soda:

Baking soda is one of the convenient solutions to the mold problems. An inexpensive solution and also helps in prevention of mold growth in future and freshens up the area. Prepare two solutions of detergent powder and baking soda and the solution of water and baking soda. Baking soda solution works well on all the surfaces including on white mold in basement but use carefully on the porous surfaces provided it cannot dry up fully. The solution works the best on the non-porous surfaces such as vinyl and tile.

Spray the baking soda solution on the defected area in detail and then wipe it using a semi-abrasive equipment or rag. Clean it wholly. Now, spray the solution of water and baking soda evenly and leave it to dry well. This will naturally help in discouraging the growth of new molds considerably. This component has lesser risks but is non-toxicant, no odor or fume as well as is safe for the nature.

There are several other solutions like hydrogen peroxide, solution of tea tree oil, extracts of the citrus seed & water and lots more.
